What is it about?

The new Federal Act on Data Protection aims to approximate the European legislation (GDPR), so that the EU continues to recognise Switzerland as a Third Country with a sufficient level of data protection to be able to exchange data without obstacles.

This law implies new obligations for every organisation that collects, processes, stores or transfers personal data in Switzerland. Violations of these obligations can lead to heavy fines and reputational damage for negligent companies and organisations.

You will conduct a thrilling investigation into the world of raclette, to acquire essential knowledge that ensures that your company/organisation acts in accordance with the law.

You will discover the key principles of data protection and develop the necessary skills to deal with these new challenges.

During this investigation, the following topics will be addressed:

  • Identifying personal and/or sensitive data
  • Transmitting data
  • Profiling
  • Buying and selling of data
  • Consulting personal data
  • Best practices in the event of a data breach

The training is validated by a quiz, to ensure retention of the various concepts covered.

The training content is easily customisable. It can be adapted to your sector’s issues, while also integrating your guidelines and your visual identity.

The course is available in:

The training lasts approximately 40 minutes.

It is divided into 6 chapters and validated by a quiz.

The first federal law on data protection dates back to 1992. In the meantime, the Swiss population has introduced the use of the Internet and smartphones into their daily lives, and is increasingly using social networks, the cloud and the Internet of Things.
In this context, a complete overhaul of the data protection law – and no longer only partial as in 2009 and 2019 – is indispensable to ensure that the population has adequate data protection that is adapted to the technological and social developments of our time.

The compatibility of Swiss law with European law, and in particular with the European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is the other main challenge of the new law. The FADP should make it possible to maintain the free flow of data with the European Union (EU) and thus avoid a loss of competitiveness for Swiss companies.
